The Long Break

Whewwwwwww...........it’s been a while since I updated the blog. I’ve been so goddamn busy with work since I’ve been transferred to the East Coast almost two months ago. Plus the fasting month that was supposed to be a ‘slow and relaxing ride’ was actually the other way around with my new responsibilities. Lots of projects need to be closed, lots of paper need to submitted, lots of payment need to be chased. That doesn’t include my long-standing issue with some third-party trading dickheads trying to disrupt our sole agency exclusivity by going directly to the clients with insane prices for our products. The silver bullets are almost ready, and I will go for the kill soon. :-D

I’m currently in JB now for a week long Hari Raya holiday. Before it’s too late I would like to wish all of you a blissful Hari Raya! Enjoy the break with your family and loved ones. Please be extra careful on the road during this festive season guys. I saw 4 accidents during my 4-hour trip from Kuantan to JB last week, 2 of them were fatal. So that is one of the good reason for you not to WOT. Heheh. I’m going to update few things that were supposed to be done few weeks (or months perhaps!) ago so stay tuned.....

My Ramadhan Gift - iPhone 3GS

I have been an iPhone user since early last year and I haven't turned back to other phone ever since. Despite using only the first generation or well referred by public as the '2G' iPhone, the thing is a wonder! I have used Symbian and Windows Mobile-based phone/PDA before, but with this iPhone, I have entered a new communication world without 'boundaries'. There will always be a new thing to be discovered everyday in the Application Store! Haha.

When Apple decided to release the much-hyped second generation 3G iPhone, I didn't buy it as I know the improvement over the 2G was not that much. People still need to download third party application for video recording, MMS and others. And the operating system is also pretty much the same. So I let the people enjoy the 'incompleteness' while I'm saving up for the real deal..hehehe.

I had my first touch of the 3GS when I was in Glasgow in June. My heart almost stopped when I see how the web pages load over WiFi. Its 'surrealistically' FAST! I'm not exaggerating, but but it was effortless for the phone to load pages with lots of photos. The 3.2mp camera with video function (and editing pane, yes you can edit your video sraight away) will make other phones run for their money. Another main feature that attracted me is the iPhone's capability to perform internet 'tethering' or in a layman's term - being a modem, either through USB or Bluetooth. And then there's the real-time compass, and Voice Control, and free EuroSport application, and GPS maps, and iPod with Nike support, and more, and more. I know one thing for sure that I bloody have to buy this when I get back to Malaysia.

So after scouting for about a week from Maxis and other handphone dealers, I decided not to get Maxis' iPlan for iPhone 3GS and also wait for about a month for the phone to arrive. Instead I bought it from a dealer at Lowyat Plaza and maintain my current Maxis plan with UNLIMITED DATA usage per month..tee hee hee. So I dont have to worry and guesstimate how many MB or GB of data I have used every month, and being slapped with 10sen/KB data charges whenever I exceeded my usage limit!

Anyways, before I sign off I would say the iPhone is a good all-round comminucation tool with sleek design and cheeky features. Recommended to everyone.

Maxxing Out @ MEX!

Another nite out with the FD2R gang few nites ago. We cruised around KL after having dinner in PJ then headed to MEX highway for the "R" battle. :)

While we were doing the photoshoot at one of the R&R, we saw two SUVs stopped and parked right besides the road. Few men came out and walked towards us. We were like...."Oh man, its the boys in blue!!!" ....and indeed, the few men were wearing blue shirts and it turned to be the biggest surprise to all of us.. it was the TRACY SPORTS team yooooo!!!!!! They were here for the MME and they took the nite out cruising to Putrajaya. They saw the Type-Rs chasing each other on MEX and decided to follow the bunch. LOL. We were speechless as they mingled with us for couple of minutes and even took photos from their own cameras. One of the Japan guys even said "K20, verry good and pawaful!" HAHAH. Let's hope that we can see our photos inside their web soon.

It was a rare experience for us though, to have met one of the hardcore Japanese Honda tuner in the midde of the night by the roadside of MEX! The boys were too excited to meet with Tracy they forgot to snap pics using their DSLRs..Bummer!

Here's a little quote i thought of few moments ago. This goes to all the "Nightkids" of the highways. "He who has removed the speedcut shall win". Ha ha ha!

FD2s and DC5s

A little meet was held between the FD2 and DC5 group for the Hup Yik Tyres grand opening in Batu Caves last two weeks. Chris from Pentagon Enterprise was present with his J's Racing FD2R. Wait, there was not only one but TWO FD2Rs equipped with different J's Racing bodykits! A beautiful sight indeed.

P/S: Crappy photos from my digicam. Sorry!

Vorsprung durch Technik

Something not Japanese this time, but this is a car that most gentlemen would love to have in their garage. This Audi RS4 has a place in my heart (Fuh) since the B5 model came out in year 2000. Needless to say more, check out the video below and listen to the majestic sound of its 4.2L V8 engine.

The B7 RS4 Avant would be suitable to carry your 4 kids to school on weekdays and to the track on the weekend. Mummy can rest at home, let daddy do the 'driver' job.

If you have that extra dough, you can always transform it to this and be the first in Malaysia to use flared fenders and GT wing on an RS4. Hahaha.

Nightkids

I was supposed to merge this post with Jai's EF B18C Type-R maiden Sepang run, but I still couldn't upload his video on Youtube. Sorry Jai, you have to wait for the next post. LOL.

Again, I went to SIC on the night of 16th with the boys (it was Scooby nite!). No Black Mamba in action this time as I am having a little bit of problem with my TEIN front shock. Having the vidcam brought along, I managed to capture the moments in both Fadhil's and Bocai's Scoobies as well as Adlan's K24 EP3.

My butt experience in the Imprezas (Fadhil's Type-RA particularly) was something rather new to me. Never before I sat in an all time, all wheel drive car with torque boosting more than 35kg/m! Fadhil seemed like an experienced all-round driver - throwing the car at each turn and made it glide nicely out of the apex. I felt a bit uneasy being a passenger as the way to handle it is different than those FF cars. It needs a little bit of 'taming' to be done at each corners whereas FF cars are much more straight forward. Hit the brakes, dip the throttle, drop the gear, enter your line and full throttle. That is on a FF car of course. Do that on a Scooby and you'll get the car spinning!

Bocai on the other hand, was struggling throughout the nite. With a heavier car (Full ChargeSpeed wide bodykit) and street tires, he endured the night the hard way through the gravel and grass. Lots of understeering involved. Haha. One thing I respect about the fella is that his determination is on top of everything. We did a non-stop 12 laps and I could say his driving method improved at each lap.

Adlan's EP3 will need no further explanation. Just look at how torquey the car is and the badass-ness of the K screaming in the vid. He spun off at T2 as the tires were, err, 'cold'. Hahaha. Nevertheless, I learned a lot from a seasoned driver like him and that will help me become a 'casually serious track driver'. Or is it 'seriously casual'? Hahaha..

Enjoy the vids!
