The decision has been made..

The decision to buy a new car came when I realize that I actually can afford to commit myself paying the monthly installments and I want a car that is WORTH EVERY SINGLE QUID I'm paying. I have listed few cars and plans (should the new-car-deal went sour) and at the end of the day, only ONE is picked.

The cars and their individual reasoning:

1. Subaru Impreza STi Version 8, V-Limited (One of the best All-Wheel Drive car ever built, but the Boxer engine configuration kinda scares me if something goes wrong. So its out from the list)

2. Mitsubishi Evolution 8 MR (The cost of maintaining the car per service is equivalent to two services of a Honda. No way. But the g-force is nice.)

3. BMW 325 E46 (I might look like a pimp daddy with the staggering 19inchers BBS wheels and a head full of Brylcream Extra Strong Hold Gel, but even an Ah Soh or Nyonya with their chests 5cm away from the steering wheel is driving it. Bummerrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr for a Bimmer.)

4. Honda Civic FD2 Type-R (I want this but I do not wish to bring extra passengers at the back. Be it my mother, or the Olsen twins, a sports car should only be made two doors! The main fact is that for now, I do not want to pay RM2,000/month for the car and not being able to mod it. HAHAH)

The plans that are still a taboo in Malaysia, or maybe not:

1. Buy a DC5 halfcut, sell of the unusable parts, and plonk in the engine in my 20 years old Civic EF. I could be the first to do this on an EF chassis and be famous, but I'm not double-penetration-hardcore enough to roam around KL without the airconditioning & power steering system. Sometimes I wished that we have 4-seasons.

2. Buy a Civic EK two doors, and build a full-blown B20 with Mahle pistons and Crower cams etc. But then again, it is still a B-series. I want to move on to things of the future.. the 'ivtec'.

Finally, after much considerations I made up my mind to get the Integra and the search for the best offer started. Went to KL and test drive few units but not impressed with the prices. Biasalah nama pun melayu, asyik nak nego till let go je ye tak? aahaha. So a friend by the name of Ram (Full name - Ramification HAHAHAHA) called me up and asked me to check out Mutiara Motors coz they have a unit of white NFL (new facelift) Integra.

So I went back to JB to have a look at the car and bloody hell, its entirely STOCK! A bit jinjang and I have no idea what the car can offer me. Disebabkan jiwa dah bergelora, I submitted my loan application to Maybank (I was competing with another guy for the car as he also have applied for the loan - Siapa Cepat Dia Dapat as what being said by the salesman.) I waited........waited.....waited......waited..waited.........and waited..........and finally, after 3 weeks of waiting with full anticipation, I was greeted with a news from the Maybank officer. "Mintak maaf Encik, loan application encik tak diluluskan". WTF???!!!!!!! The reason being was "Kereta Integra nih tak banyak demand in the market and low resell value la encik" WTF!!!!!!!!!! Then why the hellllllllll did you take all my documents and let me rot for 3 weeks???????????? Seriously it was plain idiot for a well-known bank with a net profit after tax of RM600million to serve its customer that way! And there goes the car to the other contender..

To cut things short, another DC5 has just arrived in Mutiara during my loan rejection fracas and I waste no time for another loan application with CIMB and after 3 Days my loan was approved! (Yes now I can say that Dato' Nazir deserves his 2008 RM5million director's payout. LOL). After settling everything the car is finally mine on 6th February 2009.. FINALLY.

The car was purchased at around RM140K-ish and came with few goodies from Japan such as:

- TEIN Type Flex Control Master suspension (EDFC is optional hehe)

- Cusco 25mm anti-roll bars (Front and rear. OEM is 22mm)

- APEXi N1 exhaust systems

- Bride Zeta II full-bucket seat (Driver side)

- A very nice Axiar 17inch 5 spoke wheels. NOT.

Mutiara Motors also threw in other stuffs worth RM5,000 and being a very nice friend (komisen banyak woi dia dapat!) Ram handed me few Skunk2 engine enhancements but I'll write about it later.

With these setup and advices from my buddies, I have all the rights to enjoy the mild screaming K20A Type-R engine (with lesser headache and nafsu untuk bershopping that is..yee keeeeee???).

More posts will come. Cheers!
